The staff were so helpful and lovely with my granddaughter! We loved the breakfast and an evening meal we had was excellent, really good quality and tasty food! The room was spotless and spacious, lots of choice for tea and coffee! Lovely little Xmas gift for each of us was a nice touch! The main reason we selected this hotel was due to it having a swimming pool!! However the pool seemed quite cold even though the temperature was 29.1. It felt really cool, I couldn’t go in as I had a chest infection but the Jacuzzi was so warm and was lovely! My granddaughter went in the cool pool then had a quick warm in the jacuzzi with me! Then the big blow came, the man at the desk told me my granddaughter wasn’t allowed in the jacuzzi as she was too young! He said the temperature difference was dangerous for her! I told him she’s my responsibility and I would look after her. He said he could lose his job and said if I allowed her to go in we would have to leave the pool! His attitude wasn’t good and this was the only thing that let the hotel down as everything else was perfection! I’m aware there are rules in place for health and safety reasons, but I really couldn’t see a problem as I was supervising her at all times. I did complain to the receptionist but to no avail. They should be a bit more flexible when adults say they will take on the responsibility if anything happened! My granddaughter was so upset and was crying as she lives going in the water and she is an excellent little swimmer!

We booked a last minute family night away. We arrived and were allowed to check in early which was great - the place was big and clean. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We had to book 2 rooms with being a family of 5. The weather was good 16-17.c so not overly warm. When we walked into both rooms the heat hit us instantly. The rooms were otherwise great- very clean. We out on the air con, grabbed our swim things and went to the pool which was fantastic, especially with two young children and a teen. Not too cold and not too warm. Changing area very clean and the family changing facilities were an added bonus. Again staff were great. When we got back to the rooms they were both too hot still, we opened the windows and went out for the day. The food was lovely. 2/5 of our party has allergies and the staff were very attentive and welcoming. Location is perfect. By 10pm we couldn’t bare the heat- the air conditioning wasn’t working. Reception supplied fans but the temp wasn’t dropping. The staff found us a room with air-con and helped us to get sorted with the kids. We were compensated for the upheaval too. This wasn’t ideal, but sometimes the way a situation is dealt with is what matters and I must say, the staff were brilliant and did all they could. I would recommend that the hotel sort the air conditioning systems in rooms that do not work.

We had requested a "walk in" shower, as it is easier for us. this was not available so we were given an accessible room. This was much nearer to front of hotel, which was good. The shower was a bit complicated as was geared up for wheel chair users. So the wash basin was lower too. We found the plug( screw in ) and tap( very fierce water pressure) needed getting used to. All we really needed was a shower cubical. However the bed was so comfortable. There could have been some drawer or shelf space for cloths etc, but considering the type of room and how it would be used this was understandable. The staff (Susan) on reception and every single one were so friendly, happy and helpful. It seemed nothing was too much to ask of them. We enjoyed the food. Very generous breakfast with a big choice. The main meals were good as well. We had a very good (much needed) break in Chester. It's a lovely city and would recommend anyone to pay a visit. Thank you we had a lovely stay.

Comfortable, clean, well positioned hotel Cleaning staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, a very professional and hard working team with good local knowledge that was very helpful. Frontline staff on reception, bar and restaurant all did amazing jobs. They are also a very hard working team, lovely to see smiles and very accommodating throughout stay. Great breakfast choices, excellent sausages, best I've gad at a hotel!

We were offered an accessible room which was ideal for. Staff were unfailingly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice. The hotel has a happy atmosphere. Gardens are lovely to view from the window. The outside lighting meant that our room was just dark enough. We had a fridge which was very convenient, beds were very comfortable.
